This project is driven by my passion to raise awareness about the importance of safe spaces for women and their crucial role in our communities. Each photograph captures different experiences shaped by diverse cultures, but the common thread that connects them all is the strong bond among women, regardless of their backgrounds. In these challenging times, women’s safety is constantly under threat and often not taken seriously. Creating these safe spaces is essential, as they provide an opportunity for open conversations about experiences. Whilst the urgent need to support women who may not have the opportunity to speak for themselves.

Not only using a mix of media to create images, but also wanting to include elements of the shared space in this project. I stumbled across cyanotypes, using plants and flowers from the safe space I had created for these women to connect and speak about their personal experiences.
